Reggie Bush Injury: Fantasy Owners Must Start Joique Bell
Reggie Bush picked a bad time to get injured.
After suffering a knee injury last week against the Arizona Cardinals, Bush will miss a chance to shred the league’s worst rushing defense. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the running back will miss today’s game and set his sights on returning next week.
Due to knee injury, Lions RB Reggie Bush is not expected to play today vs. Washington. He is expected to play next week.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) September 22, 2013
With Bush out of the picture, Joique Bell is an absolute must-start against Washington, who has allowed 402 rushing yards through two games.
This is the same defense that led James Starks to a 132-yard performance after Eddie Lacy left the game last week. With a career 4.9 yards per carry average, Bell is a more talented back who also plays a pivotal role in Detroit’s passing game.
Even if Bush defies the reports and suits up, Bell is still worth starting. The Detroit Free Press’ Dave Birkett noted that Bell still factors into the offense with Bush on the field.
Joique Bell play plenty today regardless of Reggie Bush's status. Theo Riddick is probably No 2 if Bush sits. He worked 2nd some in practice— Dave Birkett (@davebirkett) September 22, 2013
As the No. 2 back, Bell scored two touchdowns during the opening week and has caught 10 passes for 108 yards this season. Make sure you get Bell into your starting lineup, as he’s poised to finish as a top-10 fantasy back this week.
