Here's what we learned. Regrettably left out the butt fumble, but I know you guys enjoyed that term making a comeback as much as I did. Enjoy your night, and don't wear your "Saban 2014" tees around a 'Bama fan.
Key Stats from the Game
Turnovers: Texas won the turnover battle 3-0, recovering two late Jake Waters fumbles late in the fourth to seal the deal.
Rushing Yards: The Longhorns out-rushed the Wildcats 229 to 112. Most importantly, the Longhorns were able to hold the KSU quarterbacks to 70 yards on the ground and forced Bill Snyder to completely abandon Daniel Sams in the second half.
Players of the Game
RB Johnathan Gray (Texas): Gray was on his game all night, finishing with 142 yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries, all career highs. Texas leaned on him in the second half after Ash went down and responded with the best game of his Longhorn career.
WR Tyler Lockett (KSU): Lockett had a ridiculous 236 yards on 13 catches, repeatedly burning whoever Texas threw at him. To put those numbers in perspective, the rest of the Wildcat receivers had six receptions for 36 yards.

A Cedric Reed strip-sack on the Wildcats' final drive kills their chance at a comeback. The Longhorns start Big 12 play 1-0 but with plenty of work to do.
The Big 12 needs to do something about these officials this week. Lots of missed calls on both sides and too many for this late in the game.
Second coming of "butt fumble" by K State quarterback. Rest easy, Mark Sanchez. No more need to turn the other cheek. #Longhorns— Ed Bark (@unclebarkycom) September 22, 2013
Dalton Santos replaces the ejected Steve Edmond and recovers a butt fumble by Jake Waters. That should just about seal it for the 'Horns.
Case McCoy the 'stache is trash.

Jake Waters finishes off a controversial drive with a one-yard touchdown run.
What a catch by Lockett to set up the touchdown, but how is that interference on Diggs? That was an easy no-call.
After review, Steve Edmond has been ejected. Bad timing from a player that has been underwhelming all night.
Kansas State 14, Texas 31
Malcolm Brown finishes off a big drive with a one-foot touchdown. With under 10 minutes left, Mack Brown looks like he has bought himself another couple weeks.
While we wait on the review, which is a touchdown, can we talk about Marcus Johnson? Reliable hands, good feet and even threw a block for Brown. Liking the young receivers tonight.
Kansas State 14, Texas 24
John Hubert plunges in for the touchdown to start the final frame.
Meanwhile, the Steve Edmond obsession becomes more puzzling by the moment. Does he have dirt on the coaching staff?
This guy just won tonight. Get a T-shirt and a website. Slogan? "Hey, you a coach? It'd be a lot cooler if you did."
Anybody else see Jeffcoat get grabbed around the neck? If that's not a hold, then Breaking Bad is bad television.
Kansas State 7, Texas 24
Johnathan Gray scores his second touchdown of the night after a big fake punt. He is the first Texas rusher to break the 100-yard mark on the season.
Fumbled pitch recovered by Desmond Jackson. Nice break there for the 'Horns because Tyler Lockett is still getting what he wants down the field.
Key Players From the First Half
RB Johnathan Gray (Texas): The sophomore back continues to have a great season, getting 81 yards on just 11 carries. Had a great 16-yard run where he reversed his field along with a nifty 21-yard touchdown.
WR Tyler Lockett (KSU): Lockett almost single-handedly kept the Wildcats in the game with his 117 receiving yards, which is already the most Texas has given up to any receiver this season. Texas cannot continue to cover him with Duke Thomas.
Key Stats From the First Half
Rushing Yards: Longhorns had been out-gained 962-615 on the ground in prior three games. Tonight, they have 130 yards to just 68 for the Wildcats.
Completion Percentage: David Ash is under pressure, completing only 14 of his 25 passes in the first half.
Kansas State 7, Texas 17
John Hubert runs it in after Tyler Lockett embarrasses CB Duke Thomas up the whole field.
Kansas State 0, Texas 17
Johnathan Gray goes video-game mode on a 21-yard touchdown run. J-Gray all day.
DT Malcom Brown is a big reason Texas is so much better against the run. He is getting inside pressure and winning his matchup instead of getting pushed around.
