Paul Lambert originally announced a timetable of 4-to-6 weeks for his recovery. Benteke was available as a substitute on Oct. 20.

From John Wragg of the Daily Express:
Paul Lambert will meet with Christian Benteke ... to begin an assessment on whether he is fit to make his comeback against Spurs on Sunday.
"Benteke trained for the last couple of days for Belgium and was on the bench for the Wales game on the basis he has felt pretty good," said Lambert ...
"I got our medical people to speak to theirs over the last couple of days, as you do with every player, to make sure they have come through the game OK and it seems everybody's not too bad."

Sky Sports' Staff followed with additional details surrounding Christian Benteke's upcoming return to the pitch:
Benteke has been assesed by medical staff after travelling to Belgium and will not feature in Friday's match with Croatia, but could feature if needed in the match against Wales on Tuesday.
When asked about Benteke, the Scot said: "I trust Christian to do the right thing. He is probably stuck in the middle right now.
"But I've had a good chat with him and he will know himself what is the right thing for him to do. I trust him. But I won't be happy if he plays for Belgium and comes back to me injured."
UPDATE: Friday, Sept. 27
From Neil Moxley of the Daily Mail:
Paul Lambert is insistent that if Benteke does not feature at all next week against Hull City that he won't be travelling with Belgium.
He said: "Christian is off his crutches which were used to take the weight off his injury. He's a lot happier within himself.
"It's not as bad as we first thought. The worst fear was that he was going to be out for a considerable time. The doctors are pretty happy with him.
"But if he doesn't play for us, then I'm not sure he will be fit for Belgium."
With three losses in their first four games, is it an injury Villa can ill afford. It occurred just 26 minutes into the critical encounter in Norwich, according to Villa's official Twitter account.
After attempting to continue playing, the rising Belgian star was replaced by Libor Kozak in the 28th minute.
Kozak paid immediate dividends as he netted a goal in the 30th minute to put Villa up 1-0. But Villa fans have to be concerned as their season is largely riding on Benteke's continued development.
Benteke is just 22 years of age, but he has already taken the EPL by storm. According to OptaJoe, Benteke's 18 Premier League goals during this calendar year are the most by any player.

Villa have struggled this season even with Benteke in the lineup, and it's difficult to imagine how tough the going could be without him.
The Villans have upcoming matches against Tottenham and Manchester City over the next week at Villa Park, and it will struggle to keep pace if Benteke isn't on the pitch. With five goals in five appearances already this season, Benteke is one of the hottest players in the EPL.
Benteke missing time would be a blow for Villa fans, but for the EPL in general as he is a joy to watch.
