Another critical weekend of action in the English Premier League has arrived and Liverpool are one of the clubs sure to come away with a victory in Week 5.

The top of the EPL standings are tight, so every game makes a difference. Liverpool lead by the slimmest of margins and five clubs are tied for fourth.

For full standings, visit the Premier League's official website.

This week's slate of fixtures is headlined by the showdown between Manchester City and Manchester United. Both clubs are currently tied in fourth place and their clash should be the best of the weekend.

Below is a schedule for this weekend's fixtures along with a group of teams that are locks to win.

Liverpool (vs. Southampton)

Liverpool won their first three EPL games this season, but a draw in their last match ended their great run.

Three straight 1-0 victories put the Reds atop the EPL and the point that they picked up against Swansea City gave them a one-point lead in the standings.

Brendan Rodgers has his club playing better than anyone could have expected. Grabbing 10 points in the first four matches is incredible, but there is no time to let up. One mistake could put them in a hole.

When Southampton visit Anfield, they won't have enough to take down the Reds. The Saints have scored only twice in four EPL matches and haven't found the back of the net since their second match.

Daniel Sturridge leads the Liverpool scoring charts with four goals and the 24-year-old has scored in every game this season. Victor Moses has added a score, but it has been Sturridge that has carried the team.

Liverpool are on an incredible run. The Reds lost 3-1 to the Saints last season and they have learned from that loss. They won't allow themselves to overlook their opponents this time around.

The player who is on the best streak, Sturridge, will lead his team to a comfortable victory.

Prediction: Liverpool 2 - Southampton 0

Chelsea (vs. Fulham)

After a fast start to league play, Chelsea have struggled to get anything going the last two fixtures. They haven't scored in either match and were upset by Everton last week.

The Blues will be looking to set the tone early after losing their latest EPL match. Frank Lampard and Oscar are going to want to add to their goal tally, and Fulham are getting the Blues at the wrong time.

Chelsea also lost their Champions League opener, so they are going to be looking to end a two-match losing streak. The loss to FC Basel doesn't have an impact on the EPL, but it should give the club a push in the right direction.

With seven points, Chelsea are currently tied for fourth and they can't afford to drop off the pace. Fulham haven't won since their opener against Sunderland, so this appears to be a match that Chelsea should be able to win.

Prediction: Chelsea 2 - Fulham 0

Tottenham (at Cardiff City)

Tottenham rebounded from a tough loss to Arsenal with an comfortable victory over Norwich City. They have outscored their opponents 4-1 through four fixture, and they currently sit in second place with nine points.

Cardiff City have been unable to get more than one point in either of their last two matches.

Jan Vertonghen and Gylfi Sigurdsson have each scored two goals in EPL play. It has been a nice balance to have and their ability to work as a team will be enough to overcome a tough test against Cardiff.

The Spurs are still looking to establish a flow with their new signings. This fixture will give everyone a chance to become more familiar with each other before Tottenham take on Chelsea.

This will be a test for Tottenham, but they will survive and pick up a valuable three points.

Prediction: Cardiff City 1 - Tottenham 2
