Boston Beats Cleveland Via Manny Ramirez Two-Run Home Run

Lambert MacNairContributor IApril 15, 2008

The Boston Red Sox started off a two game series with the Cleveland Indians on the right foot.

The game was tight all the way through, with Jon Lester pitching a no-hitter through three innings and then unraveling in the fourth, giving up two runs and three hits.

Julian Tavarez worked out of a bases-loaded jam to help keep the Sox down by three. Then the Sox cam back and scored three in ninth off Joe Borowski capped by a Manny Ramirez two-run home run.

Some good news: David Ortiz broke out of a 0-17 slump, going 2-5 (the slump was the worst of his career)

Julian Tavarez has established himself a good middle to long relief pitcher.

Upcoming Game:  Red Sox vs. Cleveland, Tim Wakefield vs Paul Byrd, 7:05 pm EST
