FIFA 14 is set to hit stores on Sept. 24, per GameStop's official website, and included will be some marquee superstars who gamers can't wait to take control of.

Most of us will never experience glory in soccer, whether it be winning a big match or even scoring a goal. FIFA 14 is the closest you will get to ever being able to step on the field if you aren't capable of doing so with physical talent.

Even fewer of us will ever possess the skills of some of the sport's elite players. However, thanks to FIFA 14, we'll have the opportunity to control some of those legends.

Let's take a look at the best players worldwide and why we can't wait to play with them.

Lionel Messi, Barcelona

Messi is not only the greatest player on the planet, he's one of the best ever to play the game. The 26-year-old owns countless records, including holding the top mark in the world for most goals in a year.

With great ball skills and incredible balance and speed, Messi will have no problem shedding defenders in FIFA 14 and will be a lethal option for players in desperate need of a goalwhether that means he puts the ball in the net himself or sets up another player on his squad to get it done.

Barcelona also owns an incredibly deep roster with guys like Gerard Pique and Cesc Fabregas, so Messi has plenty of options to give gamers support when opposing defenses are focused on shutting him down.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid

Aside from Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo is another top player gamers will be eager to use in FIFA 14.

Ronaldo is another scoring machine with two goals in four La Liga matches this season, but he recently notched a hat-trick in the Champions League against Galatasaray in a 6-1 winning effort.

Among his many skills, Ronaldo plays with incredible pace and always displays great footwork that can burn even the best defenders. Just when opposing defenses think they have him locked down, Ronaldo can fire a cross that sets his teammates up for easy goals.

If Ronaldo isn't enough, Real Madrid also possesses budding superstar and newly acquired Gareth Bale, as well as several other top-notch players.

Robin Van Persie, Manchester United

With 12 goals in total in 2013-14, Van Persie is one of the most feared strikers in the game today. While injuries have limited him during his career, it appears he's shaken the injury bug and getting hurt isn't something you need to be worried about in a video game.

Van Persie has game-changing abilities when he plays with his normal elite skill and pace, which makes him a nightmare for opposing defenses that have their hands full trying to stop him.

Despite his immense talent scoring the ball, Van Persie has great vision and technical skill to unlock defenses and his touch makes him a solid passer when his opponents attempt to cancel him out.

Van Persie also plays with some great players such as Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck who can terrorize opponents in their own right.
