Now that Saul "Canelo" Alvarez is out of the way, Floyd Mayweather would be wise to choose Danny Garcia as his next opponent.

Garcia, who is coming off a convincing win over Lucas Matthysse on Sept. 14, is the most deserving fighter to take on Mayweather next and will give "Money" the most credibility than any other matchup he could take.

Besides Garcia, fighters such as Amir Khan and Devon Alexander have been thrown into the mix as potential candidates, but seeing as how those two fighters are set to square off in December, that should mean they get the winner of a Garcia-Mayweather bout.

Of the three fighters, Garcia is the only one who is undefeated. Khan has actually lost two of his last four fights and Alexander has rebounded nicely with four wins in a row after losing to Timothy Bradley in 2011.

Garcia has already proven he's superior to Khan after beating him by a fourth-round TKO in 2012. That should instantly cancel Khan out of consideration for a bout with "Money" when being compared to Garcia.

The only thing keeping Khan in the conversation is the fact that he can bring international attention to a fight as he's from the United Kingdom, but that shouldn't be the lone determining factor in taking such a bout.

Both Garcia and Alexander beat Matthysse in their past, but it was Garcia who had a slightly more impressive win. Alexander was victorious over Matthysse by split decision back in 2011 and Garcia topped the same fighter by a unanimous decision.

So, when comparing the three fighters, Garcia has the edge as the best boxer which is important because "Money" should want to fight the best out there. Granted, Garcia won't stand a chance much like any other fighter, but he is the next best boxer out there at the moment after Canelo.

Anything less than the best for "Money" could ruin his next fight. Creating the hype to get people excited for such a bout is difficult enough, but choosing a fighter who isn't the best on paper will only further sour excitement for another Mayweather match.

If it's credibility "Money" is looking for in his next bout, Garcia is the man to pick as he's clearly the next in line as most deserving to take a crack at Mayweather.
