J.B. Shuck Makes Sick Diving Catch to Keep Angels in Game vs. A's

The Los Angeles Angels can thank J.B. Shuck for their win on Wednesday.

He has emerged as a talented left fielder for the Angels in his first full year in the majors. Apart from batting a hair under .300 and getting the offense started, he routinely makes plays like this.

The Oakland Athletics are trying to clinch the AL West, but Shuck wasn't giving it to them. Oakland looked to put the game away in the eighth, but Shuck robbed an extra-base hit with this catch and held the runner at first.

He saved at least one run with this grab, as Oakland could have put up a crooked number if the ball fell to the ground.

That play kept the Angels in the game, as LA would score two more runs in the top of the ninth to tie the game at four before it went into extra innings.

Fans gave Shuck some love for his second spectacular catch of the game.

He did it all on Wednesday, nailing Chris Young at second when he tried to stretch a single into a double and also making a great catch as he crashed into the left field wall.

It was J.B. Shuck day in Oakland. He took over the game, and fans gave him love for it on Twitter.

Shuck didn't just get it done in the field. He led off the 11th inning with a double before coming around to score the game-winning run on Josh Hamilton's sacrifice fly.

The Angels aren't going to roll over and let the Athletics win the division. While LA is out of the running, it mounted a comeback behind Shuck's glove and bat and took Oakland down once again.
