Most Surprising Stats of the MLB Season

The game may be played on the field, but some of the best parts of this sport can be found in the stats.

MLB Lead Writer Zachary Rymer and MLB Contributor Gabe Zaldivar cover some of the more interesting stats from the 2013 season.

Thankfully, you don’t have to be a stat geek or sabermetrics guru to enjoy the video. Consider this the lighthearted side of hard numbers. Whether it be a slugger with near warning-track power or a reliever who is apparently unhittable at the moment, we have you covered.

And seeing as how this is the Mariano Rivera’s final season, we made sure to throw in a stat for him to keep the theme going.

Of course, we would love to hear from you. If you have an interesting stat or factoid, throw it in the comments section below.
