D3 Football Player Targets Another Player with Dirty Hit After the Whistle

Tristan ThornburghSocial Media StaffSeptember 17, 2013

Hardin-Simmons guard Wyatt Walton showed football fans a perfect example of why the sport's "targeting" rules are in effect to protect their players.

Division III football powerhouse Linfield has had 57 consecutive winning seasons and was on its way to a 71-21 victory when Walton plowed full speed into cornerback Brandon Funk with a late, helmet-to-helmet hit that can only be described as unsportsmanlike and dirty.

Walton was ejected for the hit.

Hat tip to The Big Lead for the find.
