What's Next for Rob Van Dam and Alberto Del Rio After Night of Champions?

The World Heavyweight Championship title picture is revolving around a “who do we have left” criteria.

Rob Van Dam won the match against Alberto Del Rio at Night of Champions by disqualification, which means he didn't win the title. I think this was a last-minute change. It allowed RVD to not get beat but also prevented Del Rio from dropping the title.

Damien Sandow is still walking around with his Money in the Bank briefcase. If he's going to cash in, it would make the most sense for him to do it on a babyface.

RVD and Del Rio have to have another match. Perhaps one with a no-disqualification stipulation. If that's the case, it would be a perfect time to have Ricardo Rodriguez turn on RVD.

Numero Uno amigo! Numero Uno fail. Let's face it, the pairing of the two just doesn't work together.

Maybe Rodriguez uses the no DQ to help RVD get a win but does it all for Sandow's benefit. If Rodriguez isn't going to be with Del Rio, Sandow would make sense. His character would be more conducive to having a personal assistant/ring announcer.

RVD and Del Rio are all WWE has for the WHC picture right now. Dolph Ziggler finally got a win on television again, but it was a non-title win against United States champion Dean Ambrose. This makes me believe they will have another match for the title in the future. I'm not sure why.

Ziggler shouldn't win that title, and if he loses, that doesn't help him, either. Seems like a dead end. Unless WWE creative just bails him out of the semiregular feud he's having with Ambrose and act like it never happened. WWE isn't above that.

Personally, I wouldn't be shocked. Get Ziggler out of the Ambrose feud so The Shield can battle Cody, Dustin and Dusty Rhodes at Battleground. Or if The American Dream is too old to lace them up, Big Show could take his place.

Bottom line, I think WWE is confused as to what it will do with the WHC picture. It's an inconvenience to the company. It has no Sheamus, no Christian, no Chris Jericho, Jack Swagger blew it and WWE doesn't think enough of Antonio Cesaro. Hence why Swagger and Cesaro will probably be relegated to Los Matadores' debut feud.

The only thing that's for sure about RVD, Del Rio and the World Heavyweight Championship is the red-hot story with Daniel Bryan and the WWE Championship once again highlights the second fiddle the WHC plays with experience.
