WWE Studios movie See No Evil 2 has started casting its lead roles, with two veterans of the horror genre snagging key parts.
Cult movie news site Dread Central reports that Danielle Harris, Katharine Isabelle and Michael Ecklund will be joining WWE star Glenn "Kane" Jacobs in the sequel, which is due to start filming next week in Vancouver, British Vancouver.
The plot for See No Evil 2 revolves around deranged axe murderer Jacob Goodnight, who hunts down a group of medical students:
See No Evil 2 revives the nightmare of the first film when Jacob Goodnight rises from the dead in the city morgue after his killing spree at the Blackwell Hotel. In this ominous, underground locker for the dead, a group of medical students fight to survive as the deranged psychopath once again starts to pick them apart one by one.
Twin filmmakers Jen and Sylvia Soska will be directing the film. The Guardian previously labelled the two sisters "the new faces of horror" after their breakthrough film American Mary was released in 2012.
Harris is pretty much the B movie queen: She's starred in four movies for the Halloween franchise, as well as films like Urban Legend, Hatchet 2, Hatchet 3, Stake Land, The Victim, Ghosts of Goodnight Lane, Shiver and Blood Night: The Legend of Mary Hatchet. (Note: All these movies combined still aren't as frightening as The Chaperone.)
Isabelle, meanwhile, has had main roles in cult classics like Ginger Snaps and Freddy vs. Jason. She was the lead in American Mary and has had parts in TV shows like Being Human, Sanctuary and Supernatural.
WWE Studios veteran Michael Ecklund (The Marine 3: Homefront, The Day, The Call) is also a great addition to the cast. He's a very good, if under-rated, actor. It's no wonder WWE Studios President Michael Luisi keeps putting him in projects.
