Well that was about as good as Monday nights get, wasn't it?! Cracking match, and a share of the spoils was the right result in the end.
Shelvey was the main man, at both ends of the pitch, and in the end his new and old teams both take a point as a result of his penalty area prowess.
Thanks very much for joining me in the live commentary, and make sure you join us for more tomorrow night as the UEFA Champions League kicks back into gear!
Swansea City 2 Liverpool 2
90+5'—Last ditch tackle in the Swansea penalty area to deny Aspas a late chance—and that's going to be the game.
90+4'—Final 60 seconds of added on time. Swansea come forward once more, with Liverpool still working hard to deny them space. Is there one more big chance at either end? Michu has a half-hit effort, but it's easy for Mignolet.
90+2'—Great tackle on the edge of the six yard box from Sakho as Michu looks to drift past him to find a winner. It was Sakho who first gave it away a few seconds beforehand. Chico then has to be alive to cut out a pass to deny Sturridge a run on goal.
Five minutes added on
Still time for a winner for either side here.
89'—Gerrard takes charge in the penalty area to clear the ball, with Liverpool's defenders not really sure of how to deal with a bouncing ball from the right side. The away side are definitely hanging on to the point at this stage, with Swansea finishing much stronger.
87'—De Guzman tries his luck from a free kick and it's on target—another good save from Mignolet keeps the ball out.
85'—Aspas has had very little impact since coming on for Liverpool, unable to get involved or catch the tempo of the game. Henderson has taken a knock and took a minute to get his breath back, but with Liverpool having used all three subs, he needs to carry on.
83'—De Guzman tries his luck from 20 yards with a first-time hit, but it's rising and just clears the crossbar by few yards.
He shoots, in fact, having spied Vorm creep out toward the edge of his six-yard box, but the ball drifts over the bar.
81'—Sterling immediately involved and he wins Liverpool a free kick in a good area on the left. Chance for an inswinger from Gerrard toward the far post.
80'—Liverpool sub: Moses off, Sterling on
78'—Sterling is going to be the final change for the Reds. He's ready to come on shortly. Liverpool have the ball now and are just looking to keep possession for a spell, having been on the back foot for much of the half.
75'—Another ball into the box causes problems for Liverpool, and Michu's volley on the turn flies a few feet wide. 15 minutes to go.
73'—I'm no Brendan Rodgers, but I'd be bringing Joe Allen on for Victor Moses here. Extra body in the centre for Liverpool to try and regain control of the ball, and put Aspas right, Henderson left. Liverpool are off the pace at the moment.
He does hit it...but it's along the ground and central, and Mignolet makes the save.
72'—Free kick to Swansea as De Guzman is blocked off by Lucas. Decent chance for a shot and Shelvey, of course, is standing over it.
Liverpool sub: Andre Wisdom off, Kolo Toure on.
There you go.
68'—Swansea really on top now and Liverpool need to alter their defence. There is, understandably, very little sign of Skrtel and Sakho being in tune. The latter is stepping up too often, Skrtel is dropping deeper...wouldn't be a surprise to see Kolo Toure come on sooner rather than later.
65'—Wisdom in late on Davies and that's another yellow card.
Swansea sub: Bony off, Alejandro Pozuelo on
No idea what Sakho is doing so far out of the defensive line, but he allows Shelvey to run in behind him which draws Skrtel across. Michu moves into the space on the right of centre and Shelvey's knock-down finds him, with the Spaniard finishing first-time beyond Mignolet—and that's 2-2!
Swansea 2 Liverpool 2
Michu, 63 mins
60'—Henderson trips Ben Davies on the run, and after no yellows earlier we've now had four bookings in five minutes.
59'—Bit of a short backpass from Skrtel and Mignolet has to be quick off his line. Sakho clears downfield and it turns into an excellent ball for Aspas to run onto, but his cross to Sturridge is also underhit, and Swansea clear this time.
