Larry Fitzgerald Injury: Cardinals WR Reportedly Expected to Play vs. Lions
Larry Fitzgerald owners can breathe a sigh of relief—the Arizona Cardinals star has passed the first in what is sure to be a few tests today as his team preps to take on the Detroit Lions in an afternoon game.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Fitzgerald is expected to give it a go today against Detroit:
Despite being listed as questionable with a hamstring injury, Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald will play today.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) September 15, 2013
Huge news for fantasy owners who took the gamble on Fitzgerald after a down year in 2012 where he only posted 798 receiving yards and four scores.
Fitzgerald returned to form last week and torched the St. Louis secondary for eight receptions, 80 yards and two touchdowns. Week 2 sees a favorable matchup against a Detroit secondary that allowed Minnesota's Jerome Simpson to go off for 140 yards last week.
The future is bright from a fake football perspective for Fitzgerald now that Carson Palmer is under center. As of now it appears all systems are a go for the star wideout, meaning fantasy owners should have no questions about locking Fitzgerald into the starting lineup.
