Marcus Mariota Adds to Early Heisman Hype with Huge 1st Half vs. Tennessee
Another major player in the Heisman race whether the nation pulse has caught on or not?
Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota.
Mariota put the world on notice through the first two games of the season with 668 yards and six total touchdowns, but not many seemed to notice. Instead, the attention was focused on the likes of Teddy Bridgewater and Johnny Manziel.
Mariota is in the midst of an epic performance against SEC opposition in the form of Tennessee. Through one half he has thrown for a jaw-dropping 350 yards and three scores, while adding another 74 yards and a score on the ground.
The Ducks are absolutely embarrassing the Vols 38-7 behind the leadership of Mariota. Not only is he putting up Madden-like statistics, Mariota is well on his way to a marquee victory that will define his Heisman hopes.
Mariota has arrived as a top Heisman candidate. The crazies part? He's not done beating up on Tennessee just yet.
