Philadelphia Phillies: Minor League Notebook for April 13
The Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs snapped an 11-game losing streak to start the season and notched the first victory in franchise history with a 3-1 win over the Richmond Braves. Brennan King was responsible for most of the offense, going 1-for-3 with a double, a run scored, and a run batted in. Ron Chiavacci got the win, throwing six shutout innings.
The Harrisburg Senators defeated the Reading Phillies, 8-2 on Monday night. Shane Youman contributed an inning of relief and allowed three earned runs, increasing his ERA to 9.53. Bradley Harman went 0-for-3 with a run batted in. Harman is hitting .171 in the first two weeks of the season.
The Clearwater Threshers were idle on Monday night before they open a three game series in Fort Myers on Tuesday.
The Lakewood BlueClaws lost to the Lake County Captains, 5-4 in 10 innings. Joe Naughton went 1-for4 with a walk and his hitting .286 on the season. Joseph Rocchio took the loss and fell to 0-2 after allowing the winning run to score in the tenth in his one and one-third innings of relief.
