Lotus F1 Team Tweet Goodbye to Kimi Raikkonen with Photo of Rabbits Mating

Ferrari have pulled off a remarkable move and re-signed Kimi Raikkonen in a deal confirmed today by the Scuderia on their official website.

The Finn, who was the 2007 world champion driving for the team, will link up with Fernando Alonso in a partnership which many are tipping to be fractious.

As a fan,I'm absolutely delighted to have Alonso and Raikkonen. As a journo, must reckon that two egos in a F1 team have ALWAYS clashed

It's not just Alonso whose nose might be put out of joint by the move—Raikkonen's current team, Lotus, are less than impressed. In fact, their official Twitter team have been in action with perhaps one of the least professional (but highly amusing) tweets you could ever hope to see:

So #Kimi is off to #Ferrari for 2014; it hurts a little bit… #F1 #Raikkonen pic.twitter.com/HkFhWvqpTo

The message is pretty clear, isn't it? Lotus feel like they're being screwed.

Whether they're right to feel that way or not is open to debate. Yes, they brought Raikkonen back into Formula 1 in 2012 after an exile from the sport.

However, with two wins and multiple podium finishes, Raikkonen has surely paid them back—and, speaking of pay, there are insinuations from the Finn that he has not always been paid on time by the team.

One thing is for sure, though—there are still seven races left in the season. Never mind Alonso and Raikkonen in 2014, it will be pretty awkward at Lotus for the rest of the year.
