The play was a direct reflection of the chatter leading up to Sunday's game. Green Bay planned to hit Colin Kaepernick. The 49ers weren't too thrilled about those plans. So in the second quarter of Sunday's 34-28 San Francisco win, Kaepernick scrambled left and a diving, airborne, hell bent-for-election Clay Matthews slammed him to the turf well out of bounds.
