Mike Pouncey followed:
Thanks for all your prayers for my bro @MaurkicePouncey this isn't the first time we've had to fight adversity and it won't be the last!— Mike Pouncey (@MikePouncey) September 9, 2013
UPDATE: Sunday, Sept. 8
From NFL.com's Around the League Twitter account:
From Mike Tomlin: Pouncey injured his ACL + MCL, will need surgery. LB Larry Foote ruptured his biceps. Costly loss for Steelers.— NFL: AroundTheLeague (@NFL_ATL) September 8, 2013
Pouncey is a critical member of the Steelers offensive line. The three-time Pro Bowler not only works in tandem with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to set the protection, but has also developed into a stalwart piece of a line that has otherwise had its fair share of issues.
Losing him for any extended period of time would be a major blow to the Pittsburgh offense. The fact that he needed to get carted off the field doesn't bode well, although that doesn't always mean it's a long-term injury concern.

For what it's worth, the initial announcement from the Steelers is that Pouncey has a right knee injury and is questionable to return. It doesn't provide much light on the situation beyond the basics, however.

Here's a look at the play (via SBNation.com):
Burt Lauten of the Steelers' public relations staff states Pouncey is now heading to a local hospital for an MRI in an attempt to determine the severity of the ailment. It certainly didn't look promising at first glance.

According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the injury could be a serious one.
Pouncey "not good" according to one #Steelers official. Possible ACL. Getting MRI— Ed Bouchette (@EdBouchette) September 8, 2013
More information about Pouncey's status should become available after further evaluation. All the Steelers and their fans can hope now is that the scare turns out to be nothing more than that. He'd be a key player to lose in the very early stages of the 2013 season.
