BOSTON - MAY 20: Paul Pierce #34, Rajon Rondo #9 and Ray Allen #20 of the Boston Celtics look on against the Detroit Pistons during Game One of the 2008 NBA Eastern Conference finals at the TD Banknorth Garden on May 20, 2008 in Boston, Massachusetts. NO

I am going to give you the top five reasons why I feel the Boston Celtics will win Game Seven and move on to face King James and the Cavs.

Game Seven is Sunday night in Boston.

It's for all the marbles. This is where legends are made of. Where great players prove why they are great.

One team will win and move on to the Eastern Conference Finals. The other team will lose and move on to golfing or fishing. Which ever they prefer.

This is just one fan's opinion...

The Bench

BOSTON - MAY 06: Eddie House #50 of the Boston Celtics celebrates in the second quarter against the Orlando Magic in Game Two of the Eastern Conference Semifinals during the 2009 NBA Playoffs at TD Banknorth Garden on May 6, 2009 in Boston, Massachusetts

The Bench

It is no secret in the NBA, that the bench players tend to play much better at home.

Whether it's the comfortable setting, the familiar sights or the crowd fueling them, I don't know.

I do know one thing though, this is a fact.

In Round One vs the Bulls, the Celtics bench was a step below horrendous. They were just pathetic too be honest.

However, when the lights were the brightest in Game Seven, they came through and came through in a BIG way. Eddie House, Brian Scalabrine, Stephon Marbury, hell, even Mikki Moore, they all played contributing roles in the victory vs. the Bulls.

I fully expect the same thing from the bench on Sunday night.

The Good

BOSTON - MAY 12: Head coach Doc Rivers of the Boston Celtics reacts to a foul called against Kendrick Perkins #43 of the Celtics in the first quarter against the Orlando Magic in Game Five of the Eastern Conference Semifinals during the 2009 NBA Playoff

Coaching

I didn't realize this until last year... Doc Rivers may be the best coach in the NBA. If he's not the best, he's on a VERY short list.

I remember being at the game during the '06-'07 season, when the Knicks blew my Celtics away in Boston.

I was one of the many fans who started the "FIRE DOC, FIRE DOC" chants.

I am not afraid to say publicly that I was wrong.

Doc is phenomenal. People like to say, "well if I had three Hall of Famers, I could coach them too". Maybe. Most likely no, though.

Getting the Big Three to buy in to his system, his beliefs and "ubuntu" was huge. It was never a given that they would. They were always the main focal point of their teams.

Doc is the reason they bought in. No one else. He told them what they had to do to win and they bought into it. All Celtics fans can thank Doc for No. 17 last year.

In Round One, Doc coached circles around Bulls Head Coach, Vinny Del Negro. Whether is was something as simple as having a timeout for the last possession (something Del Negro failed to do on at least two occasions) or drawing up a huge play out of a time out. Doc did them all.

I fully expect Doc will do the same thing in Game 7. Stan Van Gundy is a much better coach than Del Negro. That I will say. However, he's not Doc.

With the season on the line, "In Doc We Trust!"

The Young Guns

BOSTON - DECEMBER 03: Kendrick Perkins #43 of the Boston Celtics congratulates teammate Rajon Rondo #9 after Rondo was pulled from the game late in the fourth quarter against the Indiana Pacers on December 3, 2008 at TD Banknorth Garden in Boston, Massach

The Young Guns

In case you have been in a box for the entire NBA Playoffs, Kendrick Perkins is a BEAST and Rajon Rondo is a walking triple double.

I don't think anyone forseen Kendrick Perkins dominating Dwight Howard on the defensive end for entire games.

Dwight may have blamed his coach for the lack of touches in the fourth quarter of Game Six, but he should of blamed Perkins.

Perkins completely understands Dwight's game. He knows his go to moves and his bad moves. He understands where Dwight wants to get on the court and he denies him.

Perkins' growth during the playoffs has been amazing to watch. He is averaging a double double and has been the anchor for the Celtics interior defense.

Rajon Rondo has been in another stratosphere at times. His bad games to him, are great games for other point guards.

I have never seen a point guard rebound like Rondo does, since Jason Kidd. Rondo is averaging over 10 rpg and had a playoff high, 16 rebounds last night, in the Game 6 loss.

In the post season, he has had three triple doubles. An amazing stat. He just missed out on averaging a triple double for the entire Round One series and is close again in this series.

When Rondo controls the tempo for the Celtics we are unstoppable. He has to get them attacking the hoop and get us in early offense.

Perhaps most importantly, he is the key to getting Ray Allen in rhythm.

The Truth and Sugar Ray

LOS ANGELES, CA - JUNE 12: Ray Allen #20 and Paul Pierce #34 of the Boston Celtics celebrate after defeating the Los Angeles Lakers 97-91 in Game Four of the 2008 NBA Finals on June 12, 2008 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. NOTE TO USER: Use

The Truth and Sugar Ray

I know Ray Allen has been M.I.A for the entire series, aside from Game Two. So what.

He was also M.I.A last year in the first two rounds and look how that ended up. He was M.I.A for the first three and a half quarters of Game Five and look what happened there. He hit the game-winning three.

Ray goes through his droughts. All shooters do.

When the stage is the biggest, I don't care if he's 0-20 from the field, I want Ray taking the last shot. So does Doc, his teammates and Ray. He thrives on the pressure.

If Ray Allen is our biggest worry, then the C's are in great shape.

Paul Pierce is the best player in this series. You can have "Superman", I'll take "The Truth".

He didn't get his moniker by being a bum. He isn't the reigning NBA Finals MVP for nothing.

He has ice water in his veins. He lives for "the moment". Nothing makes his adrenaline pump like hitting the biggest shots. He will rip the opposing teams heart out, throw it on the ground and stomp on it.

That's what the true greats do.

When all else fails, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen will carry this team on their backs if need be.

The Home Crowd

BOSTON - JUNE 05: Lucky the Leprechaun, the mascot for the Boston Celtics, fires up the crowd before the start of Game One of the 2008 NBA Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers on June 5, 2008 at TD Banknorth Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. NOTE TO USER

The Home Crowd

Home Court advantage in the NBA is like no other sport.

In the history of Game Sevens, the home team has won over 80 percent of the time! That is a ridiculous number.

The Celtics are extremely experienced. They have already played in a Game Seven this year vs the Bulls and two last year vs the Hawks and Cavs respectively.

They understand the up's and down's that come with a Game Seven. They have fought through the adversity. They know some calls will go for them and against them.

You can't teach the experience that comes with these moments. You can say all the right things to the media, but until you're in the moment, you have no idea what to expect.

At this point of the playoffs, both teams are banged up and fatigued. That's when the home crowd comes into play.

When you have no energy. When you're lagging behind on a play. In crunch time. When you need a big stop. During all those moments of the game, the crowd pushes you to your maximum effort. No matter if you want to go there or not.

This is one factor that the Boston Celtics have, that the Magic don't have.

There is no changing that fact.
