From Wayne Veysey of Goal.com:

Emiliano Viviano has passed a medical at Arsenal and agreed the terms of a season-long loan from Palermo, Goal can reveal.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper flew into London from Italy on Sunday night and headed straight for the first phase of medical tests at the Gunners’ London Colney training ground.

Goal understands the Italy international has now passed the medical despite a history of knee trouble.

Viviano will join on a season-long loan, which gives Arsenal the option to buy him at the end of the campaign.

From Marca:

Mesut Ozil has decided to stay at Real MadridThe German did not want to leave the club despite Florentino Perez having reached an agreement with Arsenal to transfer for €45 million.

The transfer window slams shut at 11 p.m. BST on Monday, and the big question is whether finally Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will splash the cash.

"Arsenal are in 'advanced talks' with Real Madrid to sign attacking midfielder Mesut Ozil," according to Sky Sports News.

Per the Guardian's Scott Murray, "Arsenal is looking at Karim Benzema, Mesut Ozil and Angel di María of Real Madrid...£70m the figure that's been plucked from the ether along with their names."

Wenger raised hopes of a big-name arrival after the victory over Tottenham. From Jeremy Wilson of The Telegraph:

I’m not against spending but I want to add super quality to our squad. With 24 more hours maybe we can surprise you, maybe not. You will tell me that I’m always confident and I’ve delivered very little until now, but I’m confident, yes.

Will Ozil be an Arsenal player on Tuesday morning, or will another big name come to North London?
