UPDATE: Monday, September 2, at 10:43 a.m. BST

From Madrid-based journalist Sid Lowe via the Guardian:

If departures fall into place (Ozil, Kaka), Madrid will try again for Luis Suarez. Liverpool have so far been unequivocal that he is not going, though.

---End of update---

The transfer window slams shut at 11 p.m. BST on Monday, and Luis Suarez is still a Liverpool player.

Despite so much talk over the summer of a potential move away from Anfield, the Uruguayan is still at the club and was in the stands for their victory over Manchester United on Sunday.

Suarez is still serving a 10-match ban for biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic, but that did not stop Arsenal from making a £40 millon-plus bid for his services.

The striker returned to the first-team squad after apologising for his transfer request, but that hasn't stopped the rumours linking Suarez with a possible move from carrying on.

Will he still be a Liverpool player on Tuesday morning? It looks likely but you never know in football.

Suarez eventually returned to the first-team squad after apologising for his behaviour.
