It had been more than a decade since Josh Barnett had last stepped foot inside the UFC Octagon, but as "The Warmaster" made his return on Saturday night at UFC 164 he definitely wanted to make the most of his appearance.
Barnett was facing former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir in a battle between two of the greatest grapplers in MMA history, although this fight only hit the ground one time and that was when it ended.
Barnett came storming out of the gates and got right in Mir's face as soon as the fight started, and it was clear from the opening moments that he had no plans of letting the former UFC champion get much air during their exchanges.
Time and again, Barnett pressured Mir and unloaded huge, heavy punches to his opponent's head.
Ultimately it was a monstrous knee, courtesy of Barnett, that put Mir down on the mat once and for all and caused the fight to be stopped.
Barnett goes back into the win column as a UFC fighter for the first time since 2002, and he does so while beating a two-time UFC champion and one of the most respected heavyweights in the world.
