Real Madrid vs. Athletic Club Bilbao: La Liga Live Score, Highlights and Recap
Real Madrid continued their 100 percent start to the season, ending Athletic Bilbao's in the process, as they recorded a 3-1 win at the Bernabeu on Sunday afternoon.
Isco, collecting a lofted pass from Karim Benzema, opened the scoring in the first half with a cool touch and finish.
And just before the break Cristiano Ronaldo doubled Madrid's lead, heading home Angel Di Maria's free kick to score his first goal of the new campaign.
Athletic improved after the break, but it was Madrid, and Isco again, who scored the next goal thanks to a heavy deflection.
Ibai Gomez did add a late consolation, but in the end it was a comfortable win for Carlo Ancelotti's men in the midday sunshine.

More was perhaps expected from Athletic today, but, credit to Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti's man comfortably secured their third straight win of the new campaign. Isco may well get the credit, having scored twice, but Luka Modric was sensational - a fact acknowledged by the Bernabeu crowd throughout the 90 minutes.
Real Madrid 3-1 Athletic Club
90 +2 -- Jese crowded out
Isco feeds Jese, but the youngster is well marshaled by the Atheltic defense, who crowd him out. Seconds later Isco bends one wide after a beautiful touch from Modric in the build up.
90 -- Three minutes to be added on
89 -- Time to fizzle out
Both teams seem to be of the knowledge that Madrid have done enough to claim the three points, and the game is drifting toward the full time whistle.
86 -- Real Madrid make their final change
Dani Carvajal replaces Marcelo, meaning Mesut Oezil will not play today.
83 -- Real Madrid corner
Angel Di Maria, whose deliveries have been good, drills in a corner which results in a chance for Jese at the far post. The youngster, a little excited perhaps, lashes his effort wide though.
80 -- Ibai Gomez on target for Athletic
The ball drops to the wide man Ibai Gomez six yards out, who has just replaced Munian, and he fires past a helpless Diego Lopez. It looks like little more than a consolation though.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL FOR ATHLETIC
78 -- Chance for Jese
Fresh from the bench, Jese collects Isco's clever pass before firing into the side netting. Perhaps he could have hit the target? Madrid really threatening a fourth.
77 -- Ronaldo well saved
Ronaldo, once again cutting in from the left, sees his effort, once again, well saved by Herrerin. As the pressure looks set to continue, an Arbeloa foul allows Athletic some respite.
74 -- Madrid second change
Following Madrid's third goal, Jese Rodriguez replaces Karim Benzema.
72 -- Isco is at the double
Benzema sets up Isco again, and the young Spaniard receives a large deflection as his shot puts paid to any hopes of an Athletic comeback. Aiming for the bottom left, it flew in on the other side - it's Isco's third goal of the season.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOAL FOR MADRID
70 -- Ancelotti plays his first card
Casemiro is Carletto's first introduction, replacing in the Madrid midfield.
67 -- Ronaldo free kick
Benat picks up a booking for fouling the Portuguese international, and Herrerin does well to turn the resulting free kick around the post for a corner. Aduriz clears Di Maria's delivery.
66 -- Athletic's final change
Iker Muniain is replaced by Ibai Gomez. Ander Herrera will not play today, which will only fuel rumors he is set to join Manchester United.
63 -- Gurpegi lucky to stay on the pitch
Carlo Gurpegi's flailing elbow catches Ronaldo. Already on a booking, the referee decided a free kick is punishment enough, when a red card wouldn't have been over the top. Madrid's training ground free kick comes to nothing though.
61 -- Laporte head over
From the corner, young Frenchman Aymeric Laporte heads over the top of Lopez's goal. Not a bad chance for Athletic.
60 -- Athletic win a corner
Iker Muniain plays a poor pass to Iraola, and the full-back does very well to win a corner of Marcelo from it. Munian, in the meantime, has gone down injured.
57 -- The attendance has been announced as just over 72,000
53 -- Ronaldo chance
Cristiano nutmegs Gurpegi, cuts in on to his right foot and sees his effort deflected wide. He perhaps should have squared to the open Di Maria, but that's not his style, is it?
