There’s a lesson to be learned with Week 1 of the college football season completed: If you’re thinking about playing an FCS opponent, don’t. In fact, run away as fast as you can.

Just ask Oregon State, Kansas State, UConn, South Florida, Iowa State, San Diego State, Georgia State and South Alabama, all of which fell to FCS opponents despite being heavily favored.
