Manchester City vs. Hull City: Premier League Live Score, Highlights, Recap
Manchester City 2 (Negredo 65, Toure 90)
Hull City 0
Second-half goals from Alvaro Negredo and Yaya Toure gave Manchester City a hard-fought win over Hull City at the Etihad Stadium.
Negredo came on as a half-time substitute for Edin Dzeko and headed home the opener in the 65th minute.
Toure, who took over the captaincy from the injured Vincent Kompany, curled a brilliant free-kick past Hull goalkeeper Allan McGregor in the final minute to seal the three points.
But it was not all plain sailing for Manuel Pellegrini's team with Hull looking the better side in the opening 45 minutes.
Sone Aluko could have opened the scoring for Steve Bruce's team but scuffed his shot when one-on-one with Joe Hart.
And Robert Koren also saw a tremendous strike from the edge of the penalty just fly wide, while Danny Graham was ruled offside after he put the ball past Hart.
Those misses were to prove costly, however, as the home side bounced back from the defeat at Cardiff last weekend to return to winning ways.
