World Football Hero of the Week

This week's World Football Hero of the Week is an unlikely candidate: Mario Balotelli.

The unpredictable Italian scored in AC Milan's 3-0 win over PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday, helping to deliver Champions League football to the San Siro this season.

But it's not his pluckiness in front of goal that has caught our attention, it is his post-match wit.

In an interview with Sky Sport Italia after the match, Super Mario was asked how he felt about filling the void left by Zlatan Ibrahimovic at the San Siro. With a wry smile on his face, Balotelli said (h/t goal.com), "We are two different people, but comparing me to Zlatan is a compliment to him!"

That's funny and brave—after all, who dares anger The Mighty Zlatan?

He may not have saved anyone from a burning building, but for this high level of banter, Balotelli is our hero.
