The Thursday, August 29 edition of TNA Impact! Wrestling, which aired live from Cleveland, opened with World Heavyweight champion Bully Ray and the rest of the Aces & Eights group walking towards the ring.

Ray took control of the microphone and began to question the rest of the Aces & Eights members on why Devon took the fall and got kicked out of TNA Wrestling last week. The World Heavyweight champion suddenly changed his mind on Devon and talked about his various disappointments. Ray turned his attention to Tito Ortiz and offered him a spot in the Aces & Eights.

After Mr. Anderson disagreed with Ray on making Ortiz a member of Aces and Eights, Miss Tessmacher was introduced to the ring. Ray placed an Aces & Eights vest on Ortiz before a commercial break.

Match No. 1: Kazarian vs. Jeff Hardy

Your winner via pinfall: Jeff Hardy.

Fun match to open things on Impact! Wrestling. The win places Hardy near the No. 1 slot for the Bound for Glory Series. With Hardy being the sole feature of the Bound for Glory pay-per-view poster, this raises speculation that the former World Heavyweight champion will be in line for a title shot in October. Only time will tell.

Match Rating: 3.5/5.

Match No. 2: ODB vs. Gail Kim (best of three falls)

Your winner and new No. 1 contender for the TNA Knockouts Championship: ODB.

This was a good follow-up match, as TNA made the right choice to give ODB the opportunity to face Mickie James for the Knockouts title.

Match Rating: 3/5.

After a commercial break, the Main Event Mafia came out next to the ring. Rampage Jackson spoke first and addressed the recent actions of Ortiz's decision to join Aces & Eights. Jackson then handed the microphone over the Samoa Joe, who would go on to praise AJ Styles.

Sting thanked Styles for helping the Main Event Mafia last week and invited him to the ring. Styles kindly asked the Main Event Mafia to leave the ring and said he needed to take care of things himself. "The Phenomenal One" explained why his character changed in recent months and his confidence in capturing the World Heavyweight belt once more.

Match No. 3: AJ Styles vs. Bobby Roode

Your winner via pinfall: AJ Styles.

Unfortunately, this match needed more time on television. Instead, it ended rather quickly with a pin roll-up victory for Styles. However, Styles' promo just before the match was necessary to explain his character switch. This match could have been much more entertaining had it lasted longer, but the end result was just fine with Styles coming away with the win.

Match Rating: 3/5.

Match No. 4: Christopher Daniels vs. Austin Aries

Your winner via pinfall: Austin Aries.

Good main event match. Despite the loss, it was nice to see Daniels and Aries earn the chance to main event Impact! Wrestling. The Bound for Glory Series standings are beginning to heat up, as Magnus, Hardy, Roode and Aries are all in the final four.

Match Rating: 3.5/5.

Hulk Hogan made his TNA television return by coming out towards the ring to a very loud ovation from the crowd. Hogan said it felt great to be back in TNA and announced a gauntlet match for the Bound for Glory Series to be featured next week on Impact! Wrestling.

Ray interrupted Hogan by walking out to the ring with Miss Tessmacher. After Ray spoke briefly about winning back the world title, Hogan presented the Heavyweight champion with divorce papers from his daughter, Brooke. Ray said he no longer cared about Brooke and revealed his plans to sit back and relax until Bound for Glory.

However, in a shocking turn of events, Hogan announced that Ray would defend his title next week against Sting. Quickly afterwards, Sting rushed towards the ring and began to brawl with Ray as Impact! Wrestling faded to black.
