Magic To Stay Alive Tonight, C’s To Cover Spread In Narrow Loss

The Orlando Magic (65-28 SU, 53-39-1 ATS, 40-53 O/U) will be looking to even their second round Eastern Conference semifinal series against the Boston Celtics (69-25, 49-44-1 ATS, 49-44-1 O/U) when they host the C’s tonight in the BetUS Sportsbook and on the court at Amway Arena tonight at 7 PM ET.

The Celtics took a three to two series lead by beating the Magic 92-88 in Game Five on Tuesday night as blossoming forward Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis had 22 points and seven rebounds to help the Celtics cover the spread for BetUS NBA sports betting enthusiasts as two and a half-point home favorites as I predicted in the BetUS Locker Room that day.

All-star small forward Paul Pierce added 19 points and nine rebounds as the final score played UNDER the 192-point total set by oddsmakers.

Sweet-shooting forward Rashard Lewis scored a game-high 19 points for Orlando while veteran forward Hedo Turkoglu added 18 points in a losing effort.

Boston’s big comeback, sent the Magic into a verbal war of attrition following Tuesday’s loss with Magic center Dwight Howard calling out head coach Stan Van Gundy for his failure to stick with the players – and style of play – that got them a double digit lead over Boston prior to their comeback.

"Getting the ball shouldn't be a big issue for me," Howard said. "There's more ways to dominate the game than scoring. Me and coach, we talked about that. I just can't let my frustrations get to the point where I'll say anything."

"That kind of panic wouldn't exist in cities that are used to having teams in tough playoff series year after year after year,” Van Gundy said.

Here is a look at tonight’s key trends, followed by my in-depth analysis and NBA Free Picks.

The Celtics are 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 road games.
The Celtics are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six road games vs. a team with a winning home record.
The Magic are 6-1 ATS in their last seven Thursday games.
The Magic are 10-4-1 ATS in their last 15 home games vs. a team with a road winning percentage of greater than .600.
The Under is 4-1 in the last five meetings in Orlando.
The Under is 6-2 in the last eight meetings.
The Home team is 24-11 ATS in the last 35 meetings.

Analysis: BetUS NBA betting enthusiasts have gotten everything they have bargained for in this series and tonight’s Game 6 should be no different.

While the Celtics have been outplayed for major stretches of this series, they have displayed their championship mettle by maintaining their composure late in games while Orlando has show its immaturity and lack of a true leader by collapsing down the stretch.

The Celtics have gone a solid three and two ATS in this series, but more importantly, have apparently gotten in the head of several of Orlando’s younger players, not to mention the fact that head coach Stan Van Gundy also seems a bit frazzled on the big stage.

Boston’s 8-2-1 ATS road record in their last 11 road games is very encouraging for Celtics backers and the fact that they’ve been in almost every game they’ve played this postseason, leads me to believe they will again cover what I believe is a point spread that is at least three points on the high side tonight.

Yes, the Magic have covered the spread for NBA sports betting backers in 10 of their last 15 home games against teams with a winning percentage of 60 percent or higher, but the Celtics have been very good against every Southeast division ballclub, going six and two against the division over its last eight games.

Simply put, BetUS NBA sports betting members, I like the Celtics to cover the high point spread tonight in a narrow loss to the desperate Magic.

The Under has played out in six of the last eight meetings between the ballclubs and seven of 10 overall, but I like the Over to come out for the second consecutive game in Orlando as the Magic look to get back to their up-tempo style of play a bit more on their home floor as they try to counter Boston’s terrific half-court defense which has produced a billion Magi jump shots already in this series.

Take the C’s to cover the high spread and the Over BetUS NBA sports betting fanatics to double up on your winnings and fun.
