World Football Yellow Card of the Week: Transfer Saga Tedium

Will Tidey@willtideySenior Manager, GlobalAugust 28, 2013

This week's yellow card could have been waved at a number of people—all of them linked to the most tedious transfer saga of the summer.

Spurs' Daniel Levy has his motivations, but couldn't he just have got the whole Gareth Bale sale over with? It was inevitable, after all.

Real Madrid have been guilty of playing games in the media. Putting a Bale shirt for sale on their website was their fault whatever happened. Either they employed somebody who made the mistake by accident, or they ordered the mistake.

But my card is saved for the man of the moment, Bale himself. He's said nothing all summer, just pouted and not turned up at training. Why didn't he just stand up and let his intentions be known.

You're booked, son. Anymore, and you'll be off.
