Let's not pretend this post is fancier than it really is. Really, we brought you here to watch C.J. Wilson trip and fall and nothing more.
It's pretty great, though, we promise.
The video was posted over on Hot Clicks and features Angels pitcher C.J. Wilson running to the mound in the bottom half of the second inning in Tuesday night's game against the Rays in Tampa Bay.
As you will see, the athlete who has 13 wins on the season and owns a 3.36 ERA forgets how to properly place one foot in front of the other in a successful bipedal motion.
Instead of making it to the mound unscathed, something he has done countless times before, he performs an impromptu Superman and tries to fly to the mound.
Having better humor than balance, Wilson took to Twitter to ask for help on this strange occurrence.
The tumble may have been a sign of things to come, because the Rays put together a few hits and scored a run.
Wilson wound up pitching five innings but didn't get the decision in an eventual win for the Angels, 6-5. It was a small victory in an otherwise trying season.
I'm not talking about the 71-loss Angels getting over on the 74-win Rays. No, the small victory goes to Wilson.
The 32-year-old may have given up eight hits and three earned runs, but his team won and he learned how to shake off embarrassment.
No someone get him some pads and a helmet for the next game.
