    Manchester United are targeting Chelsea defender David Luiz in a surprise summer transfer move, claims one report in Wednesday's newspapers.

    The Daily Mirror says Old Trafford manager David Moyes believes the Brazil international is not to the taste of Jose Mourinho and could be tempted by a £30 million offer.

    The Gareth Bale saga continues to drag on with Real Madrid and Tottenham still unable to reach agreement, while Bernabeu stars Mesut Ozil and Angel Di Maria also feature in the newspapers.

Manchester United Make Move for Chelsea Star David Luiz

    Manchester United have made secret approaches for Chelsea defender Luiz, reports Alan Nixon of the Daily Mirror.

    The Brazil international, who has also been linked with Barcelona this summer according to John Cross of the Daily Mirror, has been left out of the Stamford Bridge starting line-up so far this season after a hamstring problem.

    Now Moyes believes he can tempt Chelsea with a £30 million offer for Luiz before the transfer window closes on Monday night.

    However, Nixon reports that United do not want to use Wayne Rooney, who has been the subject of interest from Chelsea, in any deal to land Luiz from the Stamford Bridge club.

    Meanwhile, Rooney will be offered a new deal at Old Trafford in the autumn if he continues to display his commitment to the club, reports Ian Ladyman of the Daily Mail.

Jose Mourinho Poised to Complete Samuel Eto'o Deal for Chelsea

    After appearing to miss out on Rooney, Mourinho is set for some good news in the transfer market with Samuel Eto'o set to become a Blues player within 48 hours, reports John Drayton of the Daily Mail.

    Mourinho worked with the Cameroon international during his time at Inter Milan and Eto'o has already said goodbye to his Anzhi Makhachkala teammates, according to Charles Perrin of the Daily Express.

    Chelsea are also lining up a move for FC Porto winger Christian Atsu, according to Darren Lewis of the Daily Mirror.

    The 21-year-old Ghana international will cost Chelsea £3.5 million and is now set to travel to London for a medical, according to Lewis.

Bale Deal Drags on as Spurs Linked to Juan Mata but Warned off Hulk

    Bale has told friends his time at Tottenham is over after being angered at the lack of progress in the deal with Real Madrid, reports Shaun Custis of The Sun (subscription required).

    The Wales international did not train with the White Hart Lane squad on Tuesday after returning to London from Spain.

    Bale had been expected to be unveiled by Real on Tuesday but Spurs were angered by the Bernabeu club appearing to jump the gun on the deal, reports Darren Lewis of the Daily Mirror.

    Meanwhile, Tottenham insist their interest in Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata is serious, according to Darren Lewis of the Daily Mirror.

    But Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has been warned off attempting to sign striker Hulk from Zenit St Petersburg, according to Lewis in the same report.

    Real Madrid midfielder Mesut Ozil is demanding £200,000 per week in wages to join Manchester United or Arsenal, reports Antony Kastrinakis of The Sun (subscription required).

    The Germany international has been linked with a move to the Premier League this summer, with Old Trafford his preferred destination, according to the article.

    Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has voiced his interest in Chelsea midfielder Mata after the player's father and agent, Juan, was present at the Gunners' Champions League win over Fenerbahce on Tuesday.

    John Cross of the Daily Mirror reports Wenger as saying: "I have heard like you, because I watched the game last night, that Juan Mata could be on the market. I don't know... there is anyway a reluctance in England to sell to each other."
