From Matt Leinart on Twitter:
Really excited and thankful for the @buffalobills for giving me this opportunity. Been working hard for 8 straight months. Time to go!!— Matt Leinart (@MattLeinartQB) August 25, 2013
According to Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports, Leinart is scheduled to work out for the Buffalo Bills this week.
NFL.com's Gil Brandt (h/t Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News) has found that the New York Jets are also planning to evaluate the signal-caller, although Brian Costello of the New York Post disputed the report.

Leinart, a former Heisman Trophy winner and the No. 10 overall pick in the 2006 draft, has bounced around the league in recent years.
His dismal four-year tenure with the Arizona Cardinals—the team that drafted him—ended when he signed a contract to back up Matt Schaub with the Houston Texans, but he was injured after the starter went down and quickly succeeded by T.J. Yates.
The USC product last served as a reserve for the Oakland Raiders in 2012 and has completed 366 of 641 total passes for 15 touchdowns and 21 interceptions during his career.
Regardless, Leinart may be able to improve the absolutely dreadful quarterback situations for a pair of AFC East bottom feeders.
His experience could give him an edge in case the Bills' first-round pick, EJ Manuel, who is recovering from knee surgery, is injured during the season.
It’s currently unknown how severe Sanchez’s injury is, but it’s cause for concern considering how poorly second-round draft pick Geno Smith performed in his best opportunity to impress the coaching staff.
Sanchez was hurt shortly after Smith threw three interceptions and ran out of the back of the end zone by mistake, which prompted head coach Rex Ryan to insert the former starter with the third-stringers.
Considering Smith's and Sanchez's play this preseason, Leinart may actually be an upgrade at the position right off the street, which will make it interesting if the Jets bring him in for a tryout.
