When you google Matt Walsh, the first choice that comes up is Matt Walsh the actor/comedian. How fitting.
Who is Matt Walsh?
Matt Walsh was a former scout and video assistant for the New England Patriots from 1996-2003.
He was present for Super Bowl XXXVI, in which the Patriots won their first championship over the St. Louis Rams.
Walsh claims to have evidence that could damage not only the Patriots reputation, but the league's as well.
Hmmm...someone close to the Patriots having prior knowledge of "Spygate"? I think I've heard that one before.
What is Walsh waiting for then?
Walsh claims he videotaped the St Louis Rams working on their game plan in practice prior to the Super Bowl back in 2003.
Why wait so long to come out about breaking the rules?
What is Walsh afraid of?
Surely Walsh will be punished for his role in Spygate, right?
Patriots Vice President Scott Pioli has come forward, saying Matt Walsh was fired when it was revealed that Walsh tried to secretly record their private conversation.
What was going to be said in that conversation that Walsh felt he had to defend his name if the book was thrown at him?
Republican Sen. Arlen Specter, fan of the Philadelphia Eagles (who lost to the Patriots in Super Bowl XXXVIII) has turned up the heat by criticizing the league's handling of the issue.
He wants the league to correspond on a greater level with Walsh's attorney. I think he secretly wants the league to give the his Eagles another shot at a Super Bowl ring. HA HA.
The league has stepped up to the podium regularly, fining the Patriots and their fearless leader Bill Belichick a first-round draft pick, as well as $500,000.
Also, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has stated numerous times that he wants to hear Walsh's side of the story and to get this issue sorted out.
Everyone else in this matter has come clean and taken their punishment (all but the accusers).
I hope Matt Walsh is not waiting for the start of the NFL regular season to bring this issue to forefront. It would be another attempt to destroy the Patriots' reputation and keep what little dignity he has left.
If he does, you can bet people will scratch their heads and wonder, "When will the real Matt Walsh stand up?"

the league's offer to Walsh included full legal immunity in exchange for "telling nothing but the truth and returning anything that was improperly taken" clearly he has done something dubious to say the least and he doesn't want anyone else to find out. this incident as a whole is similar to how Lance Armstrong's personal trainer supposedly found anabolic steroids in Armstrong's medicine cabinet but nothing ever came of that (the trainer's name was Mike Anderson I believe)

At no point in his career was Matt Walsh ever a "scout" or "video assistant".
That is how he styles himself.
Patriots employees, current and former, have stated that his actual position was as more of a gopher.
He dropped off / picked up draft prospects at the airport, made hotel arrangements, etc.

Interesting this guy and topic just keeps getting weirder thanks for the info anonymous

I think this idiot (Walsh) is just looking for his 15 minutes of fame. If he actually had something that was legitimate-it would've been brought forth by now. Instead, the NFL, Goodell, Robert Kraft and Belichick have all called him out.......and he's yet to produce anything, aside from talk of having concrete evidence.
I've also read where he was fired from the Pats after a declining job performance and was somewhat bitter about it.

Your post is as false and misleading as your photo. The NFL did not grant him "full legal immunity." In fact, the commish has thus far REFUSED to grant him immunity for all statements made in good faith. In other words, if Walsh says "It happened on Tuesday" and he really thinks it happened on Tuesday, he'll be opening himself to a legion of lawsuits if "it" really happened on Wednesday.
Goodell never even tried to interview Walsh during the league's "investigation" of the Pats. After the news media unearthed Walsh, Goodell still did not interview him. Instead, he sent out some PIs on Walsh's tail.
Here's the worst part of Max's post: Clearly he has done something dubious to say the least and he doesn't want anybody to find out about it.
Offer one shred of evidence, Max, that Walsh has "clearly" done something "dubious." How is it "clear," exactly? What was the dubious act?
The Pats crossed a cheating line and got called out on it because their coach is a jerk. Goodell has tried to do damage control by brushing it all away. This incident is entirely unlike Lance Armstrong's steroid allegations. The Pats got caught.
Misleading posts like these Max's -- and his bogus photo -- really reduce the cred of this site. This belongs on a Patriots fanboy page. Sorry Max, but misinformation sucks and you're spreading it.

Read the news-it's been plastered everywhere-the commish and the NFL has offered Walsh chances to show what evidence he's got without legal ramifications and Walsh and his lawyer have found a loophole each time that keeps them from coming out.
Goodel never interviewed Walsh because he didn't find out about him until after. He's tried to interview Walsh once he came to light, but Walsh has refused.
You should reserve your comments for when you actually know what you're talking about. Study up and you might, just might, stop embarrassing yourself...dont' hold your breath though. Apparently you just like to talk trash and beat up people and sites and hide behind being anonymous (not that any one could do anything worth while in a virtual world). It's ok though-here's why...
You said that the Pats crossed the line cheating....wrong. Read what they actually got fined for-it was for filming signs from an "illegal" location-rather, improper camera placement. This has been discussed time and time again, and it falls back to the Pats being fined for improper camera location while filming signals, not "cheating".
As for Belichick being a jerk, that's your opinion-even though I'm sure being considered one of the greatest coaches in the NFL means that you've got to piss some people off along the way. So be it-having a winning record 7 out of 8 years with the Pats will offset any "jerk" comments flung his way.
Misleading posts and a bogus photo? Come on! All you did was dispute Max's points with your opinions...then called a photo that he didn't take bogus! That's probably a fair use Associated Press (AP) photo.
You're right-practice what you preach-misinformation sucks and you're spreading it.

The Patriots organization has been demonizing Walsh. Why? If Walsh has no possibility of hurting them why would Patriot officials trash Walsh? I think it's obvious they fear what he has and are trying to diminish the impact by "killing the messenger". The Patriots and the NFL have not given Walsh legal immunity, in fact they have delayed and obfuscated and dissembled. It is the NFL and the Patriots that are "clearly" hiding something. And to refer to Belichick as "fearless" is ironic as he is "clearly" the opposite of fearless. Ivan I. needs to take off his New England cheerleader uniform before he does his "analysis". The Patriots fear what Walsh has and as yet no one can really understand why. I will posit that the Patriots cheating is so wide-spread and dedicated that the Patriots themselves can't remember all the times they've cheated. 40-year-old linebackers suddenly are in the right place all the time and a sixth round draft pick QB is a star until they don't have prior information? You gotta ask yourself how this is possible. The Patriots denials don't pass the smell test.

You're kidding me-a 40 year old linebacker in the right place is called experience-not cheating. You can't even fathom the amount of experience the LB core has on the Pats.
Aside from that, after you used a few big words in a row, everything in your statement went downhill. Ok, so it went down hill from the begining. You've got zero evidence of what you've said-it's all weak theories that you've made up and your opinion-nothing more and certainly nothing concrete.
Show me some evidence where the Pats and the NFL are keeping Walsh from talking-without evidence, even a link to a reputable news souce, I'll simply consider your reply nothing more than your opinion.

Hey anonymous I want to commend you for your analysis, my name is Ivahn and my last name starts with an L and by the way I wear my New England Patriots cheerleader uniform with pride thanks for the feedback though

Why is it that a fired disgruntled Walsh can offer tidbits of information (none of which have yet to be substantiated) about his former employers potential questionable conduct, yet the patriots and the leagues integrity are questioned when they call him out to give up what he knows.
Is it a lie he was fired (no)
Was he an advanced scout as he claims (no)
The Patriots have said publicly that the do not have a confidentiality agreement with him so if they did would it not be inadmissable in court?
What could he legally have to fear for telling Goodell or Spectre or the press information ( to the best of his knowledge) about his employment with the Patriots.
Really Walsh is in an enviable position for revenge, he knows he never has to say anything, but his silence ensures the Patriots are still presumed guilty.

According to reports, the Patriots are missing a tape of the game winning kick by Vinatieri. They believe that Walsh has it. He wants immunity from possible criminal charges.
Its not a question of full immunity for telling the truth. Walsh and his attorney (according to a report from USA Today), wants full immunity for anything Walsh says regardless of whether it can be proven or not. Basically, Walsh wants immunity if he tells a lie.
He wants a blanket immunity.
He also could be considered for federal wiretapping charges. Prior to this, the Patriots just fired him and moved on and didnt seek criminal charges. IF Pioli kept that recording that he found in Walshs desk, technically, the feds could seek an indictment with or without the Patriots consent.
He wants immunity from all potential civil or criminal liabilities according to his attorney.

i am still waiting for arlon spector to go after jake peavy for scuffing the baseball and the 49ers for tamppering. i am sure he will get to that soon, right? i mean, it is not lile a politician would do anything with an agenda in mind, would they?

First, what is more of a sign of pandering than what Spector is doing?
Second, I also thought your last name was IACHOWSKY, not LACHOWSKY. Did you use a lower case L? Why would you throw us off like that--there needs to be an investigation of your cheating!
Finally, I have to say that even as a Belichick (I think I spell his name differently every time--no excuse with Google handy!) hater I feel there is something smarmy about Walsh.

Oh, yeah, and I hate how people show up on the site and comment as anonymous, then never have their ignorance challenged or have to hear your response. They should only allow members to comment.
