The usual response to a new American football league in recent years has led to a head tilt followed by an “Awwww isn’t that cute?” People then go about their business of worshiping the NFL 365 days a year. Something odd is happening with the United Football League…it has not went away.

There isn’t much reason to think that the league cannot move forward with it’s inaugural season. Putting the four team league together has to be about as tough as putting together a reality TV show (beyond that is another story). In fact, the producers are in place for the live games that will air on the Versus Network.

Casting for the actual players will be set once the NFL makes more cuts around July.  “Taping” will be a little over a month long with the Finale scheduled for Thanksgiving weekend.  Wonder if the coaches that have been voted out by that point will really rip into Denny Green from the jury box?

Other coaches cast for the first season are Jim Haslett, Jim Fassel, and Ted Cottrell.

Sorry…I got a little too far into the reality TV swing there.  The teams will be based in New York, Orlando, Las Vegas, and San Francisco.
