The Seattle Seahawks are getting ready for a fresh start under new head coach Jim Mora Jr.  They look to take the NFC west once again after a rash of injuries killed the Seahawks chances of winning a 5th NFC West title in a row. thats the past lets look at future.

The Seahawks season depends on Matt Hasselbeck's health, now it seems he gets hurt every other year so this year i look for him to stay healthy. In reality its hard to tell if Hasselbeck will stay healthy he is a tough Quarterback and has a chip on his shoulder after a horrid performance. Look for Hasselbeck to have one of his best season yet. Hasslebeck now has a elite WR with TJ Houshmandzadeh, Hasselbeck has not had a true number one since Darrell Jackson departed after 2006. Hasselbeck will also spread the football to Burelson and Branch if the stay healthy that is a big If.

The running game should improve as Seattle hired Greg Knapp to be the offensive coordinator of Seahawks and Knapp has been able to create great running attacks with average talent, he did so in Oakland with Justin Fargas who was not a household name but got the job done due to zone blocking. I see Julius Jones and TJ Ducket to be a great combo and improve a running game that has lost its flair in recent years. Jones is a one cut down hill runner with good speed. TJ Ducket is a bruiser who will pound it down the middle and tire out defensive lines.

The defense i belive will be a top 10. This unit has one weak spot and that is SS Brian Russel. Russel hits hard but lacks closing speed and gives up huge passing plays. FS Deon Grant played decent last year and look for him to become better with CB Ken Lucas lined up on the same side as him. The CB postion will aslo be a upgrade as Marcus Trufant and Ken Lucas bring a above average combo. Ken Lucas returned to Seattle this year after leaving them after 2004. He brings good size at 6'0 feet he is taller than previos starter Josh Wilson. The defensive line was improved bringing in Collin Cole a at DT and Corey Redding to rotate as DE/DT. Patrick Kerney is a DE who teams have to plan for when healthy but staying healthy is his issue. Kerney is a beast on the line who was 2nd the NFL in sacks just over a year ago. The Linebacking core lost a great player in Julian Peterson who was on the down side of his career but gained Aaron Curey in the draft a faster player than Peterson and a player with more upside. MLB Lofa Tatupu missed the Pro-Bowl for the first time in a 4-year career. He still reamins one of the smartest LB in the NFL wo makes clutch plays. OLB Leroy Hill got a new contract and looks to reamain dominate as he one of the best run stopping LB in the NFL.

In short if Seattle stays healthy they will take the NCF west crown and rise again as the NFL elite.
