This week's episode of Main Event will feature three matches that have nothing to do with any of the current storylines heading into SummerSlam. This could be a good or bad thing, depending on how you look at it.
If you are tired of the same Superstars interacting week after week then you might like the randomness of this week's matches. If you prefer to see rivals constantly fighting, then you might not enjoy this show.
Either way, if you are looking for a full preview without having the match results spoiled, then you are in the right place.
The main event match this week will feature World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio taking on Cody Rhodes.
This match is sure to be great as Rhodes and Del Rio are two of the more fluid workers in the company. Everything they do looks effortless and smooth, so a match between the two should bring some great action.
Rhodes and Del Rio have faced off before, but the roles were reversed in the past. This will be the first time we will see them face off where Rhodes is the face and Del Rio is the heel.
The wild card here is Damien Sandow. He could use this match as an opportunity to either take revenge on Cody or cash in his world title shot.
It will be interesting to see if either man loses clean since both have major programs heading into SummerSlam.
The second match of the night will feature The Usos taking on Heath Slater and Drew McIntyre of 3MB.
The Usos may have taken a backseat to Big Show and Mark Henry when it comes to feuding with The Shield, but it is nice to see that WWE still has plans to keep them on television.
The Usos were really starting to take off with fans during their feud with The Shield, and hopefully they continue to be a big part of the tag team division after SummerSlam is over.
Which SummerSlam match will steal the show?
3MB have not had a real program since their debut push. All three members have been jobbed out as singles stars or various combinations in tag team matches in recent months.
You probably don't even have to look up spoilers to see who wins the tag team match.
The final match of the night will feature Big E. Langston taking on another resident jobber, Justin Gabriel.
Langston is heading into a mixed tag match with AJ at SummerSlam, while Gabriel is doing nothing these days. This is another match where you can probably guess what the outcome will be without looking it up.
Main Event seems like it could be good if each match is given enough time, but at least one of the matches listed to take place sounds like it will be more or less a squash match.
This is the final Main Event before SummerSlams, but it sounds like this week's show could be a nice break from all the SummerSlam buildup. What do you think?
