Running Backs: Joseph Addai, Donald Brown, Mike Hart, Chad Simpson, Lance Ball.
Joseph Addai will start from day one without competition for his starting job, but Donald Brown and Mike Hart could challenge him for carries. Addai had a down season last season after gaining 1000 yards rushing in his first two season's as a Colt. In fact Addai looked bad ever since his 73 yard screen pass for a touchdown before halftime during the Colts-Patriots game two years ago. I was screaming my head off on the play. Good Times.
Donald Brown was the nations top leading rusher the last two seasons, but the NFL is harder than UConn, and I expect him to struggle at first. He has great character and has the type of mojo I like in a football player. Contrary to popular belief, Brown was not used as a return specialist in college.
Mike Hart was also a great college player, but he struggles with injuries. Hart is very tough, and was my favorite offensive preseason player (Jordan Senn was a favorite defensive player.). Hart played well in his snaps in the regular season too. Before he got injured.
Chad Simpson and Lance Ball should not make the roster unless Brown or Addai get injured, or Hart has a setback in his recovery. Simpson has the ability to return kicks, although he is awful at it, and was one of the reasons the Colts lost to the Chargers in the playoffs. I hold a big grudge with him about it.
Lance Ball seems to have a lot of hype. I don't know why, he is just preseason roster fat. Ball could make the team if Hart has a setback and Donals Brown or Joseph Addai get hurt.
The Colts will probably use Gijon Robinsdon as their fullback, but a player like Luke Lawton or Dan Klecko might be signed if they are released from their teams.
