The Truth and KG (the Horse Not the Nets' Stars), Won a Photo Finish Horse Race

The Truth and KG are a package deal it seems. Even when the two NBA stars aren't actually people, but a horse who beat 7-2 odds to take a close race.

Let's attempt to explain.

Boston.com reports on a recent Saratoga race that featured a winner named after two former Boston Celtics stars.

Paul Pierce, affectionately referred to as The Truth, and Kevin Garnett (KG) left the franchise they helped to win a championship when they were traded to the Brooklyn Nets this summer.

The duo's monikers were cleverly smashed together for a horse that seems to have as much fight as its namesake.

With 7-2 odds in Race 7 on Monday, The Truth and KG started off the race in second place, not far back from Bernie the Maestro (5-2) who got out to an early lead. Race-favorite Hello Lover, at 6-5 odds, fell back at the beginning but was able to make up ground heading into the final stretch.

The report then goes on to describe in full a tight race that ended too close to call between Bernie the Maestro and The Truth and KG. The photo review showed that it was indeed The Truth and KG's day (the horse, not the people).

Alas, it took a horse race to give us the greatest title for a TV show that doesn't yet exist.

NBA TV simply needs to make a crime show drama wherein Pierce and Garnett go around solving egregious NBA crimes, like why Blake Griffin is flopping on the ground despite nobody touching him or where LeBron James' hair is going.

Separately, Pierce and Garnett are two NBA stars who are getting up there in years. However, The Truth and KG is an unstoppable force that dominates the field with power and speed.

Maybe the Nets traded for the wrong athlete.
