While playing in Jamal Crawford's Summer Pro-Am in Seattle, Durant posted 63 points, but it wasn't a very efficient 63. He needed 62 shots to get there, and as you can see in the video, a number of those shot attempts were dunks.
His final line: 26-of-62 from the field, 8-of-32 from three.
But hey, if Carmelo Anthony can put up similar stat lines in the regular season, Durant shouldn't be judged for such a showing during the summer.
It was a fitting return for the superstar, who began his career with the Seattle SuperSonics before the franchise became the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Addressing the crowd, Durant made it clear Seattle was a place he still held near and dear to his heart: "I just want to say I miss you guys," Durant told fans, per ESPN.
Afterward, the Durantula delivered the same message on Twitter:
Thanks to my brother @JCrossover for bringing me out and showing me so much love! Seattle will always have a place in my heart!! Love u all— Kevin Durant (@KDTrey5) August 12, 2013
Judging by the warm welcome he received and the reaction each one of his thunderous slams garnered, the fans he used to call his own feel the same way.
Seattle's 2007 first-round pick wasn't the only one putting up huge numbers. Crawford's team took down Durant's 147-141 in overtime, and he finished with 46 points of his own.
