The following is a list of 14 questions I would ask Larry English, the Chargers' first round draft pick for 2009:

  1. How does San Diego compare to the Chicagoland area?
  2. Did you have a chance to do any sightseeing?
  3. Have you gone to any good restaurants?
  4. Do you think you’ll take up surfing?
  5. What was your reaction when you found out the Chargers drafted you? Were you shocked or was it something you thought might happen?
  6. After going to minicamp, what would you say is the biggest difference between college football and the NFL so far?
  7. You’ve had a chance to work a little with the Charger defense. How similar is their scheme to what you had at Northern Illinois?
  8. What kinds of adjustments do you feel that you’ll have to make as a rookie in the NFL?
  9. Is the preparation going to be more mental or physical, or maybe both?
  10. Have you had a chance to work with Shawne Merriman? What’s it like working with him?
  11. Did you have a chance to line up against LT in practice? What was that like?
  12. What role do you expect to play on this defense in 2009, especially with Merriman and Shaun Phillips at the outside linebacker positions?
  13. What’s your first impression of working with Ron Rivera?
  14. What are your goals for 2009?
