Technology is a beautiful thing.
Dallas Cowboys cornerback Brandon Carr was in Los Angeles after playing in the preseason Hall of Fame game when he got the call. It was the call that every expectant father eagerly awaits: His fiancee was going into labor. So Carr got his stuff ready to head back to Texas, but it was too late!
Thankfully, he was able to use FaceTime and watch his son, Austin, enter the world on Monday.
Per Charean Williams of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Carr said, "I saw everything I needed to see. I saw it all. Technology is wonderful these days. Sometimes you can’t control what’s going to happen. You’ve just got to go with the flow. I made the most of it."
Carr was able to head back to Texas and spend a few days with his family. The CB returned to practice Thursday, but he is happy to have witnessed his first son's birth, saying, "It was a good feeling to be there and actually see your first son. I’m still trying to gather my thoughts and bring it all in. The last two days have been good. It’s a blessed feeling."
Let's hope Carr is ready to get the season started!
