The New York Jets gave Mark Sanchez every opportunity to lock down the starting quarterback spot over the past four seasons. He failed to take advantage of those chances, however, and the team looked toward the future by drafting Geno Smith in the second round, who has been named the team's starting quarterback for Week 1.

With the Jets Week 1 win over Tampa Bay and Sanchez being placed on injured reserve, Smith is likely entrenched as the team's starting quarterback for 2013.
