Kyle Wilson (pictured above) went 3-for-3 with two home runs and Drew Poulk added another homer as the Wolfpack (24-28) defeated No.1 UNC (38-13) 9-4 to win the weekend series against the Tar Heels.

Jake Buchanan started the game for the Wolfpack and kept them in the game, going four-and-one-third innings and giving up three runs on nine hits, while striking out four and walking none.

Sophomore right-hander Matt Harvey got the start for the Tar Heels going four-and-two-thirds innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits. He struck out six and walked two batters.

Left-handed reliever Alex Sogard (4-2) earned the victory over the heels with three innings of relief.

Joey Cutler finished out the last one-and-two-third innings to get his third save of the year.

The Win keeps the Wolfpack's chances of qualifying for the ACC Tournament alive, since the tournament only takes the top eight teams in the standings.

The Wolfpack are currently 10th, but it is very possible that they finish in a tie with the Boston College Eagles.

In this scenario, NC State would be percentage points ahead of the Eagles and put them into the ACC tourney.
