Alabama's Latest Recruiting Pitch: The $51M in NFL Contracts for Former Players

Tristan ThornburghSocial Media StaffAugust 3, 2013

Alabama head coach Nick Saban is known as the "King of the Recruiting Trail," and the results of his hard work speak for themselves, as the Crimson Tide have won the BCS title in three of the last four years.

In addition to a new $9 million football facility, Saban has a recruiting tactic he employs to draw potential players: the $51,810,000 in NFL contracts that nine of his players from last year's team have signed.

Like many things in sports, this is a perfect example of the rich getting richer (literally). But when your hard work has allowed you to tout something as impressive as this, that's exactly what should happen.

Hat tip to College Spun for the find.
