This week's episode of SmackDown will feature more buildup on the road to SummerSlam, and that means we should get some answers to a few burning questions.
The biggest question we should see answered is who will be the person who takes on Alberto Del Rio for the World title at SummerSlam, but hopefully we get answers to a few other questions as well.
This week's SmackDown was taped last week so WWE could go on tour overseas without having to worry about taping shows, so if you want spoilers, they are available.
If you don't like spoilers, then you are in the right place. This slideshow will examine four storylines to watch for on SmackDown this week, spoiler-free!
Total Divas might be a major focus for WWE right now, but two women who are not even featured on the show are the ones holding up the division.
AJ and Kaitlyn are still going back and forth over the Divas title and their own little quarrel after several weeks of attacks, promos and matches.
SmackDown will feature yet another match between these two, but this week's show might also show us where this feud is heading.
Will they have another title match at SummerSlam? How will Big E. Langston come into the picture? Will one of the Divas on Total Divas make a play for the title?
Hopefully we get answers to these questions on Friday.
Alberto Del Rio was told he would get to choose his SummerSlam opponent just like John Cena did, and this week is when we should find out who that will be.
Del Rio is not really in a feud at the moment, so he has quite a few choices in front of him.
Then again, there is always the chance that Del Rio won't even be champion come SummerSlam. We can't forget that Damien Sandow still has a title match he can cash in whenever he wants.
However, Sandow is no longer in possession of the blue briefcase after Cody Rhodes threw it into the Gulf of Mexico. Does he need the case to cash in his title shot?
We might find out on Friday.
Speaking of Sandow and his briefcase, the Intellectual Savior to the Masses might have a problem cashing in a case he no longer has.
We have never had a MITB winner have his case forcibly taken from him before, so we do not really know how the storyline will play out.
Will he be presented with another case by management? Will he demand that Cody Rhodes replace it? Or will he be forced to hire a salvage crew to find it in the gulf?
Whatever the case may be, you know Sandow will be looking for some measure of revenge against his former partner and best friend Cody Rhodes.
A big change will be coming this week as Alex Riley joins Michael Cole behind the commentary table.
This could be a big step in the right direction for the former associate of The Miz. For the past couple of years, Riley has been either jobbing, performing on NXT or doing nothing.
This could be his big break to get back onto WWE TV, even if it isn't in the role he would like it to be. Riley is charismatic enough to make the position work, but we will have to see on Friday how he does with a headset on instead of a pair of wrestling trunks.
This was likely done to fill the gap left by JBL while he climbs Mt. Blanc, but if he does well, then we could be seeing more of the young grappler as a commentator in the future.
