Race favorite Uncaptured, well, captured the 78th running of the Prince of Wales Stakes at Fort Erie on Tuesday night.

Ridden by Miguel Mena, Uncaptured got off to a bit of a slow start on the rail but quickly proved that it was the favorite for a reason.

It worked its way past most of the six-horse field and galloped past River Seven on the final stretch to win the second leg of Canada's Triple Crown.

Keith at Triple Dead Heat gives us a nice glimpse of the final moments of the scintillating race:

Here's a look at the final standings along with the payouts:

With Queen's Plate winner Midnight Aria out of the picture (marking the third straight year the winner of Canada's most prestigious race hasn't appeared in the second leg of the Triple Crown at Fort Erie) and race favorites Dynamic Sky and Spring in the Air scratched early on Tuesday morning, things opened up quite nicely for Uncaptured, which started from the sometimes dreaded No. 1 post.

TVG gave us some details of the horse's spectacular win:

Despite the relatively weak field, it was still an important victory in a prestigious race, as well as an extremely impressive run by both Mena—his second straight win at this race—and Uncaptured, the clear-cut best horse in the field.

Keith at Triple Dead Heat provides a beautiful picture of the three-year-old in the winner's circle:

To add to the joy Mark Casse and his team are undoubtedly feeling right now, they will take home an astounding $300,000 of the $500,000 purse after winning Canada's richest race on dirt.

Attention will now turn to the final leg of the Triple Crown: the 12-furlong Breeders' Stakes at Woodbine Racetrack, which will take place on August 18.
