NFL Draft, NFL, College Football, 2008 NFL Draft, Jake Long, NFL Mock Draft, Rankings/List

When Roger Goodell announces the 1st pick on Saturday, April 26th, Dolphins fans will go absolutley insane. They will get a reliable offensive lineman in Jake Long, who can be one of the team's leaders for about 10-12 years. But that is just my opinion.

Here are the top 15 picks of my updated 2008 NFL Mock Draft:

  1. Miami Dolphins - Jake Long, OT, Michigan
  2. St. Louis Rams - Chris Long, DE, Virginia
  3. Atlanta Falcons - Glenn Dorsey, DT, LSU
  4. Oakland Raiders - Vernon Gholston, DE, Ohio St.
  5. Kansas City Chiefs - Branden Albert, OL, Virginia
  6. New York Jets - Darren McFadden, HB, Arkansas
  7. New England Patriots - Leodis McKelvin, CB, Troy
  8. Baltimore Ravens - Matt Ryan, QB, Boston College
  9. Cincinnati Bengals - Sedrick Ellis, DT, Southern Cal
  10. New Orleans Saints - Keith Rivers, LB, Southern Cal
  11. Buffalo Bills - Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, CB, Tennessee St.
  12. Denver Broncos - Ryan Clady, OT, Boise St.
  13. Carolina Panthers - Rashard Mendenhall, RB, Illinois
  14. Chicago Bears - Jeff Otah, OT, Pittsburgh
  15. Detroit Lions - Derrick Harvey, DE, Florida
I expect Kansas City's pick of Albert at number five to be the surprise pick of the first round.

  1. I don't like this one....Chris Long to the Rams? Gholston to Oakland? Remember, these guys are gonna get big money...I don't see the fit with those two...and the Falcons taking Dorsey over Ryan is kind of suspect

  2. Yuck... Chris Long doesn't make as much sense as Dorsey to STL. And Jake Long at #1? How do you figure Gholston to the Raiders when they need Ellis, given that Dorsey is already off your board?

The big question though... WHAT THE HELL IS BRANDEN ALBERT DOING IN THE TOP 5?

He's inferior in every way to Clady, starting with he's a more natural guard than tackle, and even Clady would be a reach at #5.

My pick for the Ravens is Clady, even if Ryan is still on the board... Ogden is going to retire soon and another rookie 1st rounder isn't the way to go with Troy Smith in the wings... (I know he came out in the 5th round but he produced when he played at the end of last year).

    1. B Albert will be the better player in the long run thats the player i am hoping the Panthers get or either the OT from Boston College then come back for Sam Baker in the second round

  3. My top five picks 1-Gholston 2-C. Long 3-Dorsey 4-Darrain (most over rated pick)McFaddden 5-J.LONG

  4. Well done, however, Matt Ryan will either be picked by Atlanta or KC.

  5. btw mel kiper has branden albert going to the chiefs, im not sure that would be a huge surprise

  6. As a Jets fan, I hope McFadden falls to the Jets.

  7. I do too

  8. If Mat Ryan,s alive at #3, He's going to Atlanta. The Rams got a DE in the 1st round last year. Miami's picking Mat, you don't start a franchise with a OL.
