Minor League Baseball Team Wears Santa Uniforms for 'Christmas in July' Game

Tristan ThornburghChief Writer IVDecember 19, 2016

While most baseball teams don't get to celebrate Christmas on the field, a Minor League team decided to get in the Yuletide spirit early with some creative uniforms.

The New Britain Rock Cats, a Double-A affiliate for the Minnesota Twins, celebrated Christmas in July with Santa-suit jerseys that included a beard just like Saint Nick, an oversized belt, and 'Ho Ho Ho' written on the back of every jersey.

Despite having holiday cheer on their side, the Rock Cats lost 5-4 to the Portland Sea Dogs (affiliate of the Boston Red Sox).

Hat tip to Cut 4 for the find.
