Melbourne Victory 0 Liverpool 2
Suarez gets the corner short to him and drives toward the near post before drilling a low cross over, and Aspas taps home from close range for 2-0!
Victory 0 Liverpool 2
92'—Suarez threads the ball through for Aspas who breaks forward into the right channel, but his shot at the near post is saved by the keeper and blocked behind.
90'—Looks like it will end 1-0 then! Suarez and Aspas try to combine but there's too many defenders back and Victory clear.
89'—Final minute of the game. Liverpool close to making it three wins from three this summer, with three clean sheets to boot.
87'—Not too much impact from the subs yet. Downing has given the ball away a number of times, with the midfield looking a little short on ideas now.
85'—Agger heads at goal from the corner but it's saved by the keeper.
Victory sub: Marakounas is replaced by Cristaldo.
84'—Heading toward the final five minutes now and the ball is still the exclusive property of Liverpool, but despite numbers in the final third they haven't created many great shooting chances. Aspas is denied a chance to shoot now by the defence near the six yard box line.
Melbourne Victory sub: Francesco Stella on for Andrew Nabbout
81'—Downing cuts infield and sees his shot blocked, before Aspas fails to pass to Alberto who is free on the left of the area. Just the one goal for Liverpool today despite a host of chances.
78'—Kelly stands up well to the challenge of Pain. Still feeling his way back into the team after his long-term injury, Kelly, so we'll see if he progresses to play closer to the 60 or 70 minutes in a game as the summer goes on.
75'—Suarez makes his first nutmeg of the new season as he breaks into the penalty area, but he's crowded out before he can find a team mate to pass to.
74'—A little more than a quarter of an hour for the new entrants to impress then. Suarez has already had the ball to great acclaim from the supporters.
Flanagan, Mignolet, Coates, Kelly, Suarez, Aspas, Agger, Downing, Alberto and Spearing all on there.
So Mignolet in goal, Kelly-Coates-Agger-Flanagan as the back four. Lucas in midfield with Jay Spearing, with Downing and Alberto wide, Suarez behind Aspas.
Aaaaand the ball finally goes out. Here come the changes:
70'—Good positioning in the middle from Wisdom to cut out the low cross from Pain again.
Changes are afoot. A hoard of Reds are preparing their entrances.
67'—Borini cracks off another low shot which is deflected and into the keeper's arms.
66'—Pretty sure the chants from the stands now are "we want Suarez." Think they're going to get him within the next 10 minutes or so.
64'—Sterling's off target again with another effort which flies well wide of goal. He's certainly not lacking in confidence though.
Liverpool sub: Gerrard off, Lucas Leiva on.
62'—Good effort! A low cross from the left finds Borini and with his back to goal he attempts an overhead kick which flies just a metre wide of goal.
